Soundtrack.

Just a little video to show what Mikee and I have been up to in regards to the soundtrack. Mikee is playing our 'noir watz' which will be a dominant feature in the soundtrack for the film.

Book.

Sent off for a book to be printed with my photos in it the other week, arrived yesterday, I'm really impressed with the quality, looks very professional, really like it!

Recording the Soundtrack.

Music with Mikee. And Keir popped by too.

Latest.

Sorry blog! I've been awfully busy with this project, Post Production and sorting last bits out (6 days today until hand in).

- The scenes are coming along well, I've initially edited each scene, will refine them once music is sorted.
- Designing other aspects such as DVD covers, posters and Box sets.
- I've been recording the soundtrack with Mikee Reed the past couple of days, great progress, we've 'sketched out' musically for most of the scenes, with Scenes 4 and 9 done. Come Monday we will have a day long session and get this all sorted out with the help of a few musicians he's chums with.

I'll post some photos now.

The Man.

I was using an old tape I found for filming recently, discovered some old footage from my foundation year at Chelsea, wasn't my film but my friend Masum Khan. I've given it a Jamie Kyle make over/directors cut to make it more concise, but I've kept faithful to the original! Good practice for me.

Soundtrack Written.

I've been meeting with Mikee over the weekend and we've got the basis of our soundtrack written down. I really like it, we came up with some good ideas, Mikee now has to write these out and then we can record it, really excited about this too.

Voiceover Recorded.

We went to the studio the other day to record Keir's narration for the film. It went pretty well. I'm meeting up with Mikee on Tuesday to master all the recordings we did. Things are picking up!

Kill Him.

Experimenting with more recorded footage, this time for my flashback scene, in particular with audio language and quick cuts. I wanted to make it surreal and mess around with the footage, especially in relation to remembering things, as when you tend to remember something (in my case anyway) you only remember bits and bobs and not necessarily in the right order. And I wanted to play around with the fact that this information can get mixed up. Notice how it goes from 'Kill Him' to 'Please Kill Me'.

Shower.

A short vid I made up from the shower footage I recorded. It's just a short one showing 'serious' and 'silly' footage as a contrast.

Quick Update.

Hello.

It's been a while.

I've been on a short break and been back to Ealing to rest and crack down with a lot of work. So the next few days/weeks expect a lot of updates.

I've finished labelling all the audio files - possibly one of the most tedious and frustrating things ever, but it's done.

My next step right now is to do a test for the visuals. The quality of the colour footage shot on the camera I used almost looks too good to be compromised into black and white, so, I'm going to do a video testing 4 ways I can have my visual aesthetic:

- Black and white edited.
- Raw Footage (no editing).
- Colour - high contrast.
- Colour - low colour, high contrast.

If I come across any other methods during this process I'll include them as well.

Ta ta.

Teaser.

By no means is this a trailer for the final thing, it's just to show some footage/clips of what I've done, and the type of look/effect I'm after. It was edited and exported on iMovie, hence why the quality isn't great but I just wanted to do a quick vid to give you an idea.
