Filming is done! (For now)

That was a very intense week, I think I coped with it well, my first film directed, but it was a lot of work, everyone that worked with me was very professional and just generally great, some photos of the week will be uploaded soon. But in the mean time here's a video I asked my good friend Masum Khan who studied at LCC with me, to do a little 'Making Of' featurette, it captures the first couple of days but it's good to see what we did!

Latest.

Dear eager readers,

I've been progressing really well with this, my tutor is on side now and actually called me an 'inspiration' at my last tutorial which was both really nice and super embarrassing. I'll be making more shorts for practice over Easter, but from tomorrow until Thursday I will be filming the main thing!!!

I'm very excited, but not at the idea of 8am - 8pm days we have a lot to do. I have about 5 person crew going on at the mo which is so coooool. Maz will be documenting the filming so I'll have some photos up over the course of the week or so. But for now, wish me luck!

The Watched.

My latest short piece, thank you to everyone who let me film them. For some very ANNOYING reason, it just doesn't want to show my really nice title sequence, I've tried uploading 3 times and it's being a stubborn mule.

Please turn up your speakers as the music is very quiet to begin with.

Overall I think it's okay, I have my own criticisms, I wish I did a wider selection of shots (extreme close ups and wide shots to name a few) and the music I selected doesn't capture the atmosphere I want 100%, but hey, it's all practice!

Stereoscopic Vision Test Three.

Stereoscopic vision - new test. from Jamie Kyle on Vimeo.

So here is the latest attempt at stereoscopic vision. I edited the brightness, contrast and made it black and white to give an impression of what the dream sequence would seem like in the finished piece. I'm pleased in this sense, however the test overall didn't go as I planned. Even though the cameras are only at a slight angle, it still over compensates the background and foreground, it doesn't look awful, but it's not the desired effect I'm after.
You can see how far apart both images of me are, they're meant to be overlapping each other, so the idea of having a focus point and having the cameras at an angle doesn't work in my case.
I'm planning to go back to 'Test One', where the cameras are side by side, but modifying this very slightly, as this test seems to be the closest to the effect I want.

Stereoscopic Frame.

I made a new frame for my stereoscopic vision, using card and duck tape to reinforce it. I supported the best I could without jeopardizing any quality with the cameras. So in other words it looks a bit amateur but hopefully does the job. We'll see the results by the end of the day.
